Launch Request

WARNING: Do not follow GPS to FAR site from the North or drive on Koehn Dry Lake.  YOUR VEHICLE WILL GET STUCK IN THE SAND OR MUD OF THE LAKE BED.

Please send your launch request at least 8-days before your requested launch date. TRACON is notified on the Friday of the week before the week of the launch. Any launch requests received less than 8-days will be scheduled for the next FAR launch date. This launch request also helps FAR manage its launch assets and pyrotechnic operators. Early submittal will get you on the requested launcher and with an appropriate pyrotechnic operator present.

No rocket launch requests can be approved over 9,208 lb-sec (40,960 N-s) total impulse or over a 50,000-foot (15,240-meter) altitude without first applying for and then receiving a unique FAA waiver. Any unique FAA waivers must be pre-coordinated with FAR. FAA wavier requests take 45-days to get FAA approval. Please start early!

Please use this form to cancel a previously submitted launch request. Select Launch Cancellation in the Request Type menu.

If you are not a member of FAR, we ask for a use fee for your use of the FAR test site. Please check on the webpage
